31 aspects of presenting the service

Background and general information

The form is one of inwardly invoking the presence of The One and connecting to all the paths in turn. It then includes a prayer spoken which sets the tone for the process to come and for a greater realization and experience. Each path is remembered and honored by the lighting of a candle representing the light through it. Then there is a reading, followed by a little practice or recitation conveying the sense of Truth through it. Then comes a spoken message for the day to those gathered together, including those in the finer levels or planes. Then there is a closing prayer in which there is both a summing up of the activity and pointing toward continuing it in and through daily life. Finally there is a joining together of all in Heart/Breath and extending this unity and love through all the world, to those within it, and coming into it.

A note of the sequence and process following.

Do remember that while this process of attunement and conveyance are broken down into several steps, the exact order and inclusions of each and every step in sequence is not essential. What is far more needed is that knowing which comes through your realization and experience and your connection through Heart and Breath to and as part of the One Body and Being of Love; and in transmitting this and the reality, your experience, of unity to those present.

Remember, keep in mind please, that these steps and the order in which they are given are useful only a general guide. Follow your intuition and approach as true guidance unfolds the way through this practice. Also, be aware that all these words are useful primarily as means through which you can attune and catch what is needed to do and when it is needed to be conveying a particular attribute or process. You can do many, if not most, of these things with a simple breath or two and with the correct focus and intention. You will get the greatest benefit by following this unfolding guidance and the lead of all those beings making up the One Body of The Guiding Spirit - from which, through which, came all the paths and means to progression. These are more of The True. Follow these and you will more correctly be "right" in your actions. And by paying attention to the needs of the people and situation and the conditions necessary to convey this reality more fully, you will always grow to being in the right place and doing the correct step.

However, all these practices and methods, the 31 steps and the other attunements are all useful as ways to get started and keep on the path to service through this form.

The 31 Steps, with talks

Following are 31 steps in preparing for and presenting the Universal Worship service. Each is followed by a short talk. These mp3 files are generally each about a minute or so. The first few are longer, up to about 4-5 minutes each.

  1. Prepare the space.

  2. Invoke the Highest.

  3. Connect through the prophets as one being, united with all.

  4. Let the Light/Love/Breath convey through all, illuminating the Heart of the One Presence in the room or space.

  5. Invoke the prophets individually.

  6. Connect to all those beings who make up the body of the Spirit of Guidance. Feel their presence.

  7. Be aware of those Angels helping through all the planes, focusing into earth.

  8. Become aware of those souls entering and about to enter the world of division and formation.

  9. Let the healing light clean out all negativity from the space.

  10. Become through light/love/breath the being conveying this reality to all.

  11. Attune to the others present who are to commence providing this service.

  12. Arrange the heart through the books, invoking the presence again of each prophet - feeling their presence.

  13. Become away of and in breath, connected to all those teachers, directors, guides, and assistors, through each path in turn.

  14. Drape the cloth covering together over the altar.

  15. Arrange each book in front of a candle representing each path, way, or tradition.

  16. Lift each candle in turn and bless its presence and clarity.

  17. Feel the breath extend out, filling all the space and blessings coming through, lighting it completely and fully.

  18. Open the way for the concentration to extend to all present. Become aware of their conditions. Connect to them in heart/breath

  19. Invoke The One, The Highest through verbal prayer. Lift the central candle, reflecting The All, The One, of which comes all the ways, means, methods, and support.

    NOTE: The following three steps can also be changed so instead of going through each of the paths in turn with a lighting of the candle and then repeating the process with a reading for each and a practice for each, you can stay with the path you are working with for all three steps and then move on to the next, and so forth. This keeps a continuity within the path. The other approach keeps a continuity of the process. Try each and get a feel of what works better in the situation you find yourself and what you are guided to do.

  20. In turn, raise the candle of each path present and included, light it, honor it with a statement including some of its main purpose, clarity, or function, and set it down.

  21. Read a passage of two from each path - transmission, way, etc. - reflecting the message of the day.

  22. Do a short practice, recitation, attunement, or dance for each path when you finish the reading.

  23. Move through all the paths or traditions present until the last is The Universal. Read from something reflecting that Universality. Attune in heart/breath/light/love toward All, including all the ways.

  24. Read or say a little message for the day. Speak directly to the heart of each present, reaching out in feeling and connecting to all present - including those who are in other planes or levels of being.

  25. Feel the Light/Love pervading all.

  26. Offer a benediction to all present and extend the healing to all the world.

  27. Let all present join in a statement of prayer, concluding this service, and then

  28. Let everyone place their attention to all in the worlds, letting light, love, and breath convey to all, lifting, healing, and unifying all in one, as one.

  29. Close the circle through breath. Excuse those present.

  30. After they arise, then turn to the altar. Raise each candle in turn, connect to the Heart of the path and let the Breath come through your own, extinguishing the flame - knowing and feeling, at the same time, how the flame and light continue its process, alive.
