Be quiet, listen and learn. This is the start. To feel as if you know the answer you delude yourself. The knowing is present. Listen, feel, and learn. Then you can act. Practice: follow you breath and quiet your thought. Turn your heart and feeling to all the universe. Let this fill you. You can repeat a divine name or sound and then become aware of what comes to you in guidance - however you perceive it.
Peace is existent. Happiness manifest through the being of bliss, conveying this through, into the world. Be of bliss and happiness will come. Be seeking personal satisfaction and you lose. Win through surrender of self in harmony with The One of bliss and joy. Practice: put aside your personal interests for a moment and seek that which is in the interest of all. Look for what will help many regardless of who gets credit. In this way, give credit inwardly only to that which always provides.
To be in peace, learn to live in peace. Become of it. Practice: The first step is to focus upon the Ideal of peace. Then connect through breath and heart. Third, surrender into it.
Quiet the mind, quiet your breath, attune your heart toward one. Peace is here. How this may be done. Practice: one way is to sound a word re-presenting peace such as Salaam or Shalom. Attune to it, feel it, sound it, let it resound through your body. Refine it upon the breath, by sounding it inwardly. Let yourself become aware of that peace that exists. Breathe it in to yourself instead of sounding it. Breathe it out to all. Become of it.
Each time you may have a thought that is negative, stop when you are aware of it, and affirm its positive counterpart. Practice: become aware of your thinking in 5 minute intervals. That is, try to pay attention for 5 minutes of each and every thought or feeling you have. Then become aware more by extending the time period more. Accept that you will become aware of any negative or harmful action or thought through the prompting of the Universal Mind and Being.
Establish a regular cycle of prayer and activities toward which you place yourself. By doing so you will grow and move toward this. Practice: select an ideal which you hope would help the world. Repeat yourself toward this in action as well as word. Here is a prayer: "Help me, Oh Universe to do what I need to do and know what I need to know to be of service and help. Let me be guided as You know best, for I place myself in Your hands and heart and being. Through my breath and heart and body, help me to do what you lead me toward."
As you affect all things with your attitude and feelings, attempt to cultivate a strong sense of beneficence and giving. This, when combined with attention and breath, and carried with you wherever you are, may extend far. It will have an effect where you place it. Practice: become aware of your feelings. When you may not be as positive and well focused as you feel you are able to, place your attention upon the sun and breathe in and out strongly focusing upon the breath in the right nostril. Place your attention upon the Ideal of how you know you can be and then let this replace your previous feeling. Extend this further around you until you know you are moving "in the right direction".
Consider thankfulness toward the lessons of life. Practice: let come to you and accept to get what you truly need. Affirm this in you thought through active repetition of this. More fully, accept this through you actions, knowing you will be guided as needed. Then become thankful by knowing this is all provided for your use to reach you real goals more easily and quickly.
Sound can be used to help practice peace. By attuning yourself to a word of active peace you will become of it. As it resounds through your body, your body will take on those qualities. As it affects your mind, so you will begin to feel and think. And as it touches your heart and breath, so it will become Real and grow. Practice: use repetitions of mantric value such as sallaam, shalom, and more. As you walk around, feel this coming through you and all you touch and do. Leave it through the world as you walk and work and play.
To expunge the negative, focus upon the positive. By trying to fight the negative you give strength to it through attention. When you focus upon the positive, the rest fades away. Practice: Take one Ideal of which you feel is valuable for you to increase within yourself. Focus upon this. Let your breath and heart move toward this. Only a few moments in true humility and placing yourself toward this is enough. Then let it grow from there. This seed will become a strong tree.
When the breath is disturbed the body, mind, and heart are disturbed. When the rhythm of breath is harmonious all else will follow in harmony. As this is the case through experience, so is the converse true. This is that when the body, mind, and heart are in harmony with the Greater Universe, then the harmony of breath will follow. Practice: breathe in and out easily and in balance. Let the in and out breaths be of the same length, intensity, and ease. Try this until you feel harmony, balance, and ease extending through the body to your mind, and then into the heart.
When you do not possess an item you can not be possessed by it. If you are the caretaker of what is within your sphere you will not have elation of gain nor fear of despondency of loss; for there is nothing to lose or gain. Practice: become aware of the transiency of this life and things, including your body, mind, and being. Consider what you had when you entered this world and what you will have to take with you when you leave. Consider the source of all these things and to what they will return. If you are attached to an item or possession, feel how it would be to live without it. Accept that you neither control nor are controlled by it, but use it only.
When you are in a situation which "causes" you disharmony or upsets you, consider this the Teaching of Harmony and where the limits of your peacefulness are at this time. Practice: place yourself in a harmonious breath and consider the person or situation as as expression or face of The Divine, your Ideal, or the Universal Teacher. Breath this and experience.
It is the surface of life which becomes agitated or disturbed. In the depth is tranquility and peace. Practice: feel, for a moment each day when you are in balance and harmony, the depth to which it goes. If you are bothered, upset, or agitated, remember the breath and how you feel through the quiet depth of the ocean of living.
Color, tones, harmony, balance, and peace are all intertwined. Feel the peace of the colors or sound or tones of your garments, home or living place, and work place. Adjust them as needed to achieve a balance and peace of the day or time. Practice: become aware of the effects of color, resonance, and settings. Feel them individually as an exploration of effects. Examine the sounds, colors, shapes, and other aspects of your life one at a time. See and feel what is most peaceful, fulfilling, joyous, and harmonious. These are the things or condition to promote. Focus upon strengthening and repeating them. The rest will fall away naturally without a fight or discord. Trying to correct a situation, look for that balance and harmony, not reversing the negative.
Each thought or feeling you have about anything: a person, situation, or place, has it's affect and conveys to it right away. Practice: imagine that the person is right next to you and that you are speaking directly that thought. How do you feel? Is it correct and appropriate? Adjust it if needed. Do the same with a situation or place - as you consider yourself to be in it and present.
Try to place yourself in real service. By doing so you will get what you truly need to progress. Practice: in the morning, prior to doing, ask for guidance and unfoldment leading you to do what is needed, when you are needed, in the way this is needed - neither more not less. Feel this happening and you will be led to this. Then listen and feel for this 3 times during the day. See what happens. Expand this as you will.
You will find greater peace and harmony by helping another than wanting to be served and given what you want. Practice: look for the opportunities or chances to simply be of assistance to someone.
Action that is right will be more fruitful than what you just want to do when you would like to do it. Practice: before speaking, acting, doing, or not doing, place your attention, breath, and heart upon the Highest of your Ideal, Beloved, or the Guiding Universe. Let This inspire you. How? By following your breath and feeling what is right to do. Try this a few times and then sort out what is right through your action by paying attention.
Taking on a state of indifference will free you to act correctly. In any situation there is a right or correct approach. This is not determined outwardly or by rules or regulation. It is through knowing and feeling in harmony with love and light. Indifference is not a state of not caring. It is caring to do what is needed and not of personal wants or aversions. Practice: place yourself, once or twice a day in breath/heart toward the One. Use the breath and your love of the universe to lead you to this. Then, resting in That, ask what would be best to do - without regard for personal preference. Breathe in the heart. Be attentive to what unfolds or inspires or how you feel. Try to do, once, what you are guided to do or not do. See the result. Evaluate it and how you attuned to this guidance or not and then acted.
Breathe Love. Breathing love will guide you to The Way. Practice: place your attention upon any individual or situation or thing in which you felt love. Rest in this and breathe. Now place your attention upon the Highest of that which you are able to conceive. Transfer this breath and feeling to That, without thought or remembrance of the situation of person that first stimulated it. Rest in this love as much as you are able. Let it grow through your breath and heart each day.
